Start from the placement

A feed post, story, cover, and thumbnail are different design jobs. Choose the primary placement first and reserve safe space for interface overlays, captions, and cropping.

Compose for the crop

Keep critical faces, products, and text away from fragile edges. Ask for breathing room around the focal point so one master concept can adapt to several related formats.

Match detail to viewing size

Small mobile placements reward a single subject, strong contrast, and simple shapes. Dense scenes and fine typography may work for a large cover but collapse in a thumbnail.

Export and inspect

Review the actual asset at the size and in the context where it will appear. Check text legibility, compression, color contrast, and whether UI elements cover important content.
